We are lucky enough to have many options
when it comes to hitting the trail in Niagara.
The famous Bruce Trail sees its' beginning in Queenston and winds all through
Niagara before making its' way up to Tobermory. There is a local group called
the Niagara Bruce Trail Club
http://people.becon.org/~nbtc/ who helps maintain the trail and organizes
hikes.
Short Hills is another popular spot, this is a day use provincial park which still has no fees for visitors. Just like the Bruce Trail Club, there is a group that looks after trail maintenance and organizes hikes and other events in Short Hills, you can visit them online at http://www.friendsofshorthillspark.ca/
Along with these obvious two areas, we are blessed with many other spots such as the Niagara Glen, Louth St. Conservation Area and Merritt Trail just to name a few. Stop by and we can suggest many options depending on your preferred distance and difficulty.
