Quetico Series
.    Ever since the Quetico series was introduced it has been getting rave reviews from paddlers and outfitters alike. These canoes are fast and incredibly stable. As a result it is excellent for both novices & experienced paddlers. Whether you are in rough water or fly-fishing from the Quetico you will feel secure at all times. Although there is no "perfect" canoe for all paddling conditions, the Quetico models come close. The Quetico is available in 16, 17, or 18.5' versions to suit all needs depending on your required speed, manoeuvrability and capacity. Souris River builds all their boats in either Duralite (a special cloth Souris River has developed as a more affordable alternative to Kevlar) Kevlar, LeTigre (another Souris River exclusive) or Carbon Fibre, all their boats are built using a flexible epoxy resin. This is one of the main differences between them and other canoe brands, epoxy resin is difficult to work with and more costly, but the overall product is much, much better. Souris River also uses a unique Flexible Rib System to stiffen the floor. The Flexible Rib System holds the bottom down stiff to promote efficient paddling and deforms only when you make contact with an obstacle such as a log or rock. Selecting the correct material depends on your needs and budget, Duralite is the least expensive, yet heavier. Kevlar and LeTigre tend to be 7-10lbs lighter yet obviously cost more.
