Kayak & Canoe Catalog
We have selected a great mix of kayaks and canoes that we feel offer some of the best designs, quality, and value available. The following is a basic guide we have put together to help you in choosing the boat that's perfect for you. We try to keep these boats in stock, however some times we do run out of a style, as well, we may actually have more styles in the store than are actually represented here.
The prices listed are the manufacturer's suggested retail. We do often run promotions, we urge you to contact us for the most up to date pricing.
Touring Kayaks
Touring kayaks (also known as Sea Kayaks) are best suited for larger bodies of water and covering longer distances. Some of these boats however do perform quite well for short paddles on smaller creeks. Some fairly standard features are fully sealed-off storage compartments, deck rigging, perimeter lines, and rudder or skeg systems to aid in inclement weather. Polyethylene is still the material of choice for many paddlers, although fiberglass boats are available for those who want the best of the best.

Light Touring Kayaks
Light Touring kayaks are a good balance for many people. They are short and light enough that throwing them onto the roof for a quick paddle is not out of the question. Some of the boats in this category also allow you to take them on an overnight trip or paddle on open water should the opportunity arrive.
Wilderness Systems Tsunami 120 & 125 - $999
Perception Tribute 12 Airalite - $1229
Recreational Kayaks
Recreational kayaks are defined as boats that are perfect for the beginner paddler, or for those people that just want something for short paddles every so often. These boats are popular with fisherman and photographers due to the large cockpits and rock-solid stability in the water.

Sit-on-tops
Sit-on-top kayaks are popular for those who would rather not be enclosed inside a cockpit. The shorter models are great for use at the cottage or for kids to play around on. Longer models are becoming increasingly popular for fishing as they offer a stable platform with lots of room for tackle boxes, nets and rods.

Recreational tandems generally have one large cockpit which accomodates both paddlers, where touring tandems have seperate cockpits and additional storage compartments.
